George has performed Analysis, Engineering and Construction Administration for nearly thirty years. Project engineering experience includes work at universities, libraries, government facilities, commercial office buildings including high rise, athletic centers, theaters, historic facilities, religious institutions, museums, parking garages, and tenant fitout.
George’s responsibilities have included management of a staff of electrical professionals, execution of electrical design concepts, and project management of projects involving multidisciplinary teams.
Management duties have included reviewing design submissions developed by electrical staff, coordinating electrical resources on multiple projects, mentoring junior engineers, and recruiting staff.
Design tasks have included evaluation of building electrical systems, documentation of electrical system conditions, application of life cycle cost analyses for system alternatives, and generation of written reports on a wide range of topics related to electrical design.
Project management tasks have included facilitating communication between the owner, contractor and design team, monitoring project schedules and tracking project efforts, and participating in all aspects of construction administration.
SELECTED PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, Firestone Library – Phased renovation of 420,000 square feet of reading rooms, collaboration space, rare books archival space, fixed and compact shelving at Princeton’s premier research library. In order to keep the Library open during construction, the construction was planned for six major phases over eight years. Construction documents were prepared using Revit, including documentation of existing conditions to facilitate new systems coordination with existing structural members. Multiple projects involved a new state-of-the-art auditorium addition and archival storage spaces and office reconfiguration in the existing building. Nemours Mansion and Gardens, Wilmington, DE – Extensive renovation project upgraded mechanical and electrical systems as well as life safety systems for protection of the building itself as well as visitors to the estate. The 46,000 square foot Mansion was the home of A. I. DuPont and his family.
